Unexpected house guests!

At 5:45 this evening I received a phone call from a neighbor, to see if I ran a bum lamb adoption agency. I told him that I would take them. But I first had to run into town to get some lamb milk. So I ran to IFA and got there 3 minutes before they closed.

Then I went and met my new babies. Not knowing a lot about the situation that they were born in. Come to find out they are a set or triplets, two boys and a girl. But Kevin was giving one of the little boys to someone at work. But he needed someone to take the other two.
The mom has Blue bag, (basically mastitis), on both sides. So she will never have milk for these little guys.

fter seeing them and knowing that they had never drank I was sure hoping that I had a few vials of colostrum at home in the closet. The little boy (his name is Hansel) was very weak and had a hard time standing. The little girl ( her name is Gretel) was doing fairly well. Ater getting them home and cleaning everything off the floor in my wash room. I started trying to get these little ones to eat. Gretel took right to sucking a bottle. She drank 2 ounces like it was nothing. Hansel is a different story. I had to really work to get 1 ounce of milk down Hansel. Then I went to look in the cupboard with all my lamb supplies in. And was excited to find to doses of colostrum. I was able to get 15 cc of colostrum down each of them. Then after running a few errands and trying little Maddy's dress on her, I came home and Hansel was standing. Then Hansel drank an ounces out of a baby bottle, and Gretel drank 3 ounces out of a lamb bottle. I will feed them again at 11 tonight, my goal is to have each of them drinking 2-3 ounces at each feeding.
Tomorrow I will have to go and buy some plain yogurt to put in their bottles.
